Description
Scorpion Solitaire is one of the harder versions of Solitaire around. 49 out of the 52 cards are laid out in a 7x7 grid which represents the Scorpion's body, the top three cards of the first four columns are face down, everything else face up. The final 3 cards of the deck are placed beside the columns, thus providing the Scorpion's tail.
The object of the game is to try to achieve cards in suit sequence from ace to king in four of the columns. However while any of the cards can move, a lower rank card cannot be placed onto a higher rank card, and once a lower rank card is moved, all the cards above it in the sequence move too. Once there are no legal moves to make, the three extra cards are added to the first three columns (providing the Scorpion's sting).
,br>all of this makes Scorpion Solitaire an incredibly tough game of logic and tactics depending far more on skill and judgement than luck, where players can see most of what is going on and not be surprised by turning over a wrong card.
