Description
BG chess challenge is, ---- unsurprisingly, Ian Humphries of Spoonbill software's self voicing Chess program. The game contains innumerable speak keys to get a layout of the board, ---- everything from speak current rank and file, to speak what pieces are attacking or what pieces they are being attacked by.
The game also contains many helpful customization and practice tools to let you improve your game, everything from having you swap pieces with the computer, to getting a hint about your next move, even the ability to force the computer to play your next move for you, ---- and it goes without saying that the game opponents from beginner to expert; though not perhaps grand master, level. .
you can choose to enter moves in letter format, or pick up and move pieces with the space bar and arrow keys, and for those just starting to learn the game a document called "how to play Chess" is included, which walks you through all the rules.
You can play with one or two human players, set up a position on the board to solve chess problems, and there is also a low vision mode with large high contrast graphics as well (though by default the game is set up for blind compatibility mode).
Like all other Spoonbill games, BG Chess challenge will speak directly through Microsoft Sapi, and is also entirely free!
Happy Checkmating.
