Description
Dog who hates toast is a rather unique take on a balderdash style word substitution puzle game. in trying to save up enough money for a truly awsome pair of shoes, you go to work for the rather insane Aprone. This work involves moving items around Aprones large house.
These requests might be a litle strange, such as being asked to take the rug out of the living room and put it in the shower in the bathroom, but it's obvious Aprone is a litle bit insane! in fact he will get more and more insane throughout the day. This insanity takes the form of substituting common words with others, for instance he might start substituting the word bathroom with battery, or rug with screwdriver. Unfortunatley this condition seems to get worse, and more and more words will radually turn into others until the point that Aprone is speaking complete gibberish! Yet, if you want those truly amazing glow in the dark, run faster, jump higher all singing, all dancing shoes, you'll need to be able to go on understanding Aprones' requests however! insane they sound.
The game is therefore very simple to play. use the top row on the keyboard, 1-0 to move betwene each room in the house, and the next row, w-i to look at places where objects can be put within that room, such as tables, cupboards or the floor, (q reviews your current task). The next row down, A onwards will review each object in that location, and once an object is selected just hit enter to swap it with whatever you've got in hand currently.
Thus, you'll first need to familiarize yourself with the house, and the many objects and their locations. Then, with each successive job you complete, you'll have to cope with another word substitution, for instance the word in might be substituted for mousepad, so you'll be asked to put the banana mousepad the sink mousepad the bathroom. After the names of objects, and common verbs have been substituted, the game will turn into a real test of your ability to remember and understand language, as you'll start getting sentences like tooth brush banana pillow from banana chocolate, then place slowly on banana table, mouse pad banana toy room.
The game continues either until you have performed 40 tasks, or until you simply give up out of frustration!
though not a complex game, Dog who hates toast is rather fun and particularly insane to play, and the perfect way of giving your brain a work out. Also, though the developer aprone accepts donations, the game is absolutely free.
