Description
Like most of Aprone's games, Revelation is a truly unique game, and one built on an amazingly symple and absolutely unique concept.
In Revelation you are given 36 objects which range from water and sunlight to apple tree, grass and rock. The object of the game is simply to combine these objects together and see what new objects you can make, and then in turn use those new objects to go on and make further objects. For example you might find combining water and sunlight gives fog, and combining grass and wind gives pollen, and then combining polen and fog gives spring, then combining spring and water gives rain. The object of the game is to both discover how many objects you can make, completing collections such as forces, ceramics or sticky substances, and to see how few steps you can use to create each thing. To help you you do have magic, which can instantly create a copy of any element it's combined with and thus is great for getting you out of a jam when you find you've made too many of a given substance, (though the higher the difficulty of the game the less magic you have).
Interface wise this is one of the simplist games imaginable, just with a menue of objects, (use the arrow keys to cycle or hit the first letter to go to objects with that letter). There are a few extra informational keys to tell you what recipes you've discovered and what recipes the currently selected object can combine with, for all of these see the Readme. The game outputs to various screen readers or to sapi.
Revelation is really a surprising game, since while the concept sounds amazingly simple, it's quite surprising how much time you can spend trying to work out different combinations, or how much fun playing the nutty professor and seeing what you can throw together and what it creates can be.
Also like all of Aprone's other titles, Revelation is completely, utterly and absolutely free, however if you wish to support his game development as well as the server costs for his online games, a donation link can be found on his website.
Happy combining.
